Xcel Energy’s Clean Energy Future – an overview of its recent Integrated Resource Plan
The presentation comments will explain what an IRP is, it’s importance, what we have done to date, and the process going forward. I will use a slide deck to organize my comments and spur conversation. I will also likely touch on the issue of equity and the utility’s role of guaranteeing universal access, non-discriminatory pricing, and service quality standards.

Jim serves as Manager, Community and State Government Affairs for Xcel Energy. In this role, Jim represents Xcel Energy’s business interests at the State Capitol and within the City of St. Paul and Ramsey County. He works directly with Minnesota’s policymakers to advocate for safe, affordable, reliable, and clean energy policies.
Prior to joining Xcel Energy, Jim worked for a member of the German Parliament in Bonn, Germany, the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission in Lowell, Massachusetts, and as a Deputy Commissioner for the Minnesota Department of Commerce. He is an avid hockey fan and enjoys spending time with his three kids at home in Mahtomedi.
