What’s Happening with Solar in Minnesota

Jan will present current topics and information about solar projects in Minnesota, including global, national and Minnesota statistics to give perspective on the increased use and rapid growth of solar energy systems in the state. He’ll give an update on community solar, current solar bills in the Minnesota Legislature, PUC dockets relevant to solar, economic, social and environmental factors driving the fastest growing job category in Minnesota and the nation.

Jan Hubbard

Jan Hubbard has more than four decades of working experience in the solar and electronic manufacturing industries ranging from business and project development, to marketing and sales management. He is currently the owner and full-time principal of Natural Energy Solutions, LLC., a Minnesota solar and energy storage consulting and project development firm.

Jan began his solar career during the Great Recession working for the Minnesota Renewable Energy Society as a full-time volunteer. He has worked in the solar industry for several solar installers and

developers over the last decade contributing to the development and installation of many solar photovoltaic and energy storage system projects from 80 watts to 1.5 megawatts. Jan is also a founding board member and the current board President of the Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association (MnSEIA).

Jan has a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Cloud State University, a Master of Business Communications graduate certificate in Public Relations from the University of St. Thomas, a Bachelor’s of Science degree majoring in economics and business from the University of Minnesota, and electronics diploma from Anoka Technical College. He is a graduate of St. Paul College solar PV Technical Sales program. Jan earned a NABCEP PV certificate of knowledge, and he is a NABCEP Certified PV Technical Sales Professional.
