This 3 kW grid-tied photovoltaic system, which was installed in 2003, offsets all of the homeowners' current electricity needs over the course of each year. As part of their project they rebuilt their top floor and roof, using a lot of salvage material and changing its orientation so that the roof faced south and north, instead of east and west.
