Riverland Community College students designed
and built this visitor center, office, and educational building
in 1975. They also helped Innovative Power Systems in the installation
of the solar electric array. Their main motivation in this project
(completed in 2007) was to support a green energy source and to
provide an educational opportunity for the many people and students
who come to the Nature Center each year. Future plans for this site
include developing a "hands-on" energy display in the
visitor center.
