2034 Marshall Avenue

Inspired by the community thinking of the
solar project at Old Man River Cafe (now Cafe
Juliahna) , the owners of Izzy's
Ice Cream initiated a solar project called High Noon Solar @
Izzy's — solar powered ice cream supported at a private company
by hundreds of donations and volunteer hours! To make their vision
a reality, Izzy's sought out and formed many partnerships: retail
and wholesale customers, staff, the Neighborhood Energy Connection,
the Green Institute, Innovative Power Systems, Banks Electric, the
City of St. Paul STAR Grant program, and many more. The 8.6-kilowatt
system started producing power on January 1, 2006.
Come by and get a scoop of the only solar-produced artisian
ice cream in the world at Izzy's!
