Course Description
Due to the high response to the four Solar
Thermal Workshops offered earlier this year (Duluth, Mankato, St.
Paul, Fergus Falls), this two-day workshop is being offered again
to provide another opportunity for contractors to learn how to design
and install a quality solar thermal system. The course is designed
for participants who have a level of knowledge equivalent to that
of a Master or Journeyman plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC contractor.
It is also available to solar energy installers.
The workshop will cover in detail what constitutes
a quality, code-compliant solar hot water heating system. Learn
how to design and install a solar energy system for both domestic
hot water and space heating needs. This course covers solar resource
fundamentals, solar thermal applications, components, codes, and
standards for commercial and residential buildings.
The Minnesota Office of Energy Security has
recently announced the "Minnesota Solar Hot Water Rebate Program,"
providing financial incentives for the installation of residential
solar thermal systems for residents of Minnesota. Maximum rebates
for single family homes are $2,500 and $10,000 for multi-family
properties.
The two-day course is designed for participants
who have a level of knowledge equivalent to that of a Master or
Journeyman plumber, pipefitter, or HVAC contractor. It is also available
to solar energy installers.
Who Should Attend?
Plumbers, HVAC contractors, mechanical contractors,
solar companies, and code officials. Registration priority until
September 19 will be given to plumbers, contractors, installers,
and solar companies. If class size permits, registration will be
opened to general contractors on September 20.
Registration deadline is September 26. We
anticipate the class filling soon — don't wait, register today!
